It’s The Luck Of The Irish! It’s that time again….St. Patrick’s Day! As a native of Savannah, GA I have definitely had my fair share of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and believe me its a huge celebration. In fact it’s probably one of the best you can ever experience in your life. This year the parade will take place on Friday, March 17, 2017. 10:15 a.m. – 2 p.m. With one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the United States, Georgia’s First City knows how to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day right and that’s A PROMISE!
Just imagine tons of floats and units filling the streets for the Savannah’s 193rd St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which will feature more than 350 marching units and up to 15,000 people. In case you didn’t know the parade started in 1824 with soldiers marching in honor of St. Patrick’s Day with the exception of major wars, including the Civil War and World War I, Savannah’s St. Patrick’s Day parade has run nearly every single year for the past 187 years. See that’s what makes it so special and a must see!
Who’s ready to party?
Savannah’s celebration is a three day event: Thursday, March 16-Saturday, March 18, 2017 – River Street & City Market. However for Savannah residents the celebration can extend well into Monday! There is always a celebration on River Street, in fact its the biggest party destination for the holiday. Folks really go all out. Trust Me! You will have the opportunity to enjoy world renown restaurants, bars, food vendors and of course beer, beer and more beer! The vendors will line the streets of Savannah. Just a heads up, every thing turns green in Savannah during the celebration so please don’t be alarmed if you order grits & eggs and they are served to you green. Music can be heard miles away as Savannah gears up for St. Patrick’s Day and will run well into the nights. It’s a crazy celebration.
In the event that you’re looking for green beer we advise you to purchase a $10 wristband before you get ready to party. There’s a Control Zone” and in order to party with a cup or pint in hand all festival-goers MUST buy a wristband ar one of the booth locations. Remember you must be 21 years and older (I.D. will be enforced). It’s confirmed that daily there will be a different wrist band so grab yours and PARTY HARD. *See Map Below*
