Love Weld (LW) is an amazing company that I have been following for a few years contemplating if I was ready to commit to having one of their beautiful yet unique pieces welded on my body permanently. As I curate this blog post it does indeed sound a little crazy. As I continued to do my research I soon discovered that the founder Sarah Sides was indeed on to a genius idea. I absolutely love innovative ideas and all things that are outside of the box. I know first hand that the craziest idea is the one that could change your life forever.
ABOUT LW
The LW magic all began with a spark of inspiration when Sara Sides was conducting trend research for a jewelry brand that she designed for. At the time, there were two stores in Paris and New York, where clasp-free jewelry was an ancillary service to a traditional jewelry store. Sara Sides found the concept fascinating, became a bit obsessed, and quickly decided that the concept needed to be its own brand. She wanted to create a space for people to connect & celebrate life through jewelry. Sara and her husband, both came up with the Love Weld name. They wanted the name to be timeless, simple and all about the customer.
Love Weld specializes in creating permanent bracelets, necklaces, anklets and rings that often signify a special someone, bond or event in your life.
Each 14K solid gold jewelry piece is tailor fitted to your specific measurements and can be customized by adding charms that tell your story and suit your style. We complete the process by bonding your 14K solid gold jewelry piece with a quick mini weld – resulting in your very own personalized permanent jewelry piece that is uniquely you.
MY LOVE WELD EXPERIENCE
ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO
In October I traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico. My intentions was to have my first Love Weld experience. From the moment that I entered the store the staff was not very inviting. They seemed to get a kick out of saying smart remarks and comments to my party of 3. I decided to cancel my appointment. I refused to be in places where it appeared that I was unwanted.
NEW ORLEANS
Everyone who knows me already knows that when my mind is set on doing something, I’m going to do it. I made the decision to fly to New Orleans specifically to give Love Weld one more try. My visit was set a few weeks before Christmas. One day the weather was bright and sunny. The next day is was rainy and cold. To my surprise that day it was the first rainy weather that Nola had in 3 months. As I waited patiently for my Uber, which was taking longer than usual. I noticed that I may be a little late for my appointment. I called Love Weld to let them know that I may need to reschedule. I inquired about a later appointment. The young lady who answered the phone was so polite. She insisted that I take my time and she would see me when I arrived.

As soon as I walked through the door for my appointment Destiny greeted me with a welcoming smile. She walked me through the process and patiently awaited for me to select the service that I was having. Honestly I had my mind set on getting a permanent anklet. Destiny placed their selections on my arm so that I could have a better look at my choices. The selections were hard to select from because they were all so beautiful. I finally settled on the “Caroline Glimmer”. I fell in love with the dainty yet classy look.

The process does not take long. Typically your appointment time is 30 minutes and which can accommodate up to 3 welded jewelry pieces or 3 guests. A party of that 6 guests would only take an hour. All of their appointments are led by a Love Weld welder that will guide you through product styles and options, as well as the complete Love Weld process. My welder was Destiny (New Orleans) so if you’re in Nola and want to get “Welded” book your appointment with her. She was absolutely amazing.
Destiny carefully measured my ankle. I was a little concerned with rather it would tighten later but she assured that the “Caroline Glimmer” will stretch a little over time. That was perfect. Destiny had me place my foot on a stool as she worked diligently to ensure that I had the perfect fit. I told her as a Flight Attendant I wanted to ensure that it wouldn’t rip my panty hose while traveling. We both decided to fit it over my socks, another a great decision. Destiny’s customer service and the manner in which she explained every step to me is unmatched. Once my anklet was ready to be welded she placed a branded leather material between my skin and the anklet as she welded my permanent jewelry. Once my anklet was completed welded she did a few tugs and I was “WELDED”.
What I love about Love Weld is that each time a person gets a permanent piece of jewelry it is symbolic to an event, love, friendship or a celebration. My “Caroline Glimmer” represents living my dream, finding love, losing love, happiness, grief, peace, memories, unforgettable moments, success and how grateful I am to God to be the Woman that I AM.
