Hey Darlings! I’m back with another Hidden Gem in our Southern Hospitality Meets Luxury Road Trip Series with Lincoln. We had the privilege to take a short 3.5 hour road trip to Savannah from the south side of Atlanta this past weekend. I love the South and my hometown and there is no better way to cruise down the highway than in a brand new 2019 Lincoln Nautilus. The ride was so smooth and it helped with the ride that I was able to enjoy my favorite True Crime Podcast as the kids enjoyed their favorite YouTube channels and streaming movies from Netflix and IStream.
Although Savannah is my hometown the city has grown so much since my last visit. I discovered Henny Penny Art Space & Cafe via Instagram and needless to say it was added to my list of places to visit in Savannah. Upon our initial arrival my sister, niece, best friend and I all headed to have a few scoops of ice cream from Leopold’s. You can read about our experience here. Once we finished our mini tour of Broughton Street my sister, niece and I headed out in the Lincoln Nautilus in search of the Henny Penny Art Space & Cafe. I would have never imagined that it would be right up the street from my favorite bakery, Gottlieb’s that closed years ago. I loved the location and it’s just a short walk from Forsyth Park and also on the public transit line which makes it so convenient for locals to visit.

The moment that we drove up to Henny Penny I was so excited. The ambiance from the outside of the building to walking through the front door being cheerfully greeted by the handsome guy behind the counter. He was very helpful in explaining to me about the art programs and open studio. Classes range from Tuesdays to Saturdays. You can find the full schedule here.
Trust me if I stilled lived in Savannah this would be my go-to secret spot to write. I loved that they have two specials weekly that cater to their targeted market:

I love that their local bakers and barista’s work diligently to create unique and delicious treats. They carry a range of sandwiches and pastries that are all freshly made in-house. They also partner with some amazing local businesses to provide a great selection of goodies to appeal to all appetites small and bug. Vegans don’t worry they have you covered too with vegan doughnuts and other desserts. I enjoyed their vegan brownie and the goat cheese brownie. OMG! They were both so delicious!
This trip I simply didn’t have enough time since we only came down for the weekend but if you’re in Savannah on a Sunday I highly suggest that you head to Henny Penny to enjoy their Sunday Crepes. A Momma Hen told me that their house crepes are created on request by their in house crepe artisan trained in France who returned with secret crepe wisdom to bring you the most authentic experience of this traditional French delicacy right there in Savannah, GA. HENNY PENNY….I’LL SEE YOU AGAIN IN A FEW WEEKS! I NEED MY FRENCH CREPE!!
