Should A Woman Pursue A Relationship With A Man?

Why Should The Woman Make The First Move?

Hey Ladies! Its Relationship Wednesday or at least today it is….so let’s have a discussion. A few weeks ago my BFF and I were having a candid discussion about relationships. This was no different conversation then the ones that we normally have when it comes to relationships. In our case we are both single so of course that leaves us room to discuss any and everything under the sun. Unfortunately she hasn’t been married before, however I have. In a sense its like she was sort of since she practically road along with me during that  journey in my past marital relationship. We’ll let’s just say she was there through the BEST & WORST times during that particular relationship. Our discussion lead us to talk about how it seems that in today’s society guys like they want to be chased. Yes we’re going there! So that leads us to tonight’s hot topic: Why should the woman pursue a relationship with a man? Why do men expect women to chase them? Have the rules changed?

My BFF sent me this image after our conversation. Needless to say the above image speaks for itself. I mean when did it become acceptable for women to start chasing men? Let’s take a moment and discuss. Really? Do you think that a man wants a woman who pursues him 24/7? What does that leave for him to desire if he already knows that he has won the prize without putting in a little work to win his queen. Listen ladies we can’t fall into this trap. We are the Queens and the King should be pursuing us. In Genesis you did not read that Eve chased Adam! What you read in Genesis 2:21-23 was:

21 – So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place.

22 – The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.

23 – The man said,
         “This is now bone of my bones,
           And flesh of my flesh;
           She shall be called Woman,
           Because she was taken out of Man.”

The above scriptures should always represent the standard that our Creator, God implemented as a guideline when it comes to who should pursue. Although Adam didn’t to pursue Eve because God created her so that man would not be alone and as his help meet (which we will discuss in a later post). I thought that it was interesting that the meme starts off with saying “All Girls Need To Read This”. Which is absolutely true! The post points out some key points that both girls and women should pay special attention to when it comes to relationships.

If he is truly interested in you, there is no need for you to do the pursuing! This statement is absolutely true! This means that you are his top priority and he will do whatever needs to be done to ensure that you’re aware of his presence and his adamant pursuit to court you. If its a natural instinct for man to hunt when hungry for food then why wouldn’t it be natural for him to seek you out? That way rather you’re interested or not you have options. When the roles are reversed and he’s not interested where does that leave you? Hurt? Sad? Upset? Honestly that’s because that’s the man job. I’m not saying that I nor my BFF haven’t pursued a gentleman because of course we have! Heck we all have at least once in our lifetime. What we have learned is that okay to truly be vibing him but in reality of he’s vibing you too…then he will have no problem coming over to get to know you or stopping you at an event and making his presence known.

What are your thoughts?

Have you ever pursued a man?
