Who says that lunch dates have to be expensive?

It’s rare that my oldest son is home in Georgia and we get a chance to spend time together. You know 21-year-olds they have so much to do in such a short period of time but the other day I had the opportunity to spend some time with my son. My son and I headed to our local Applebee’s which happens to be about 3 minutes from our house for lunch before he heads back to California.
Applebee’s currently has their NEW 2 for 20 Menu for a limited time. What’s so amazing about this menu is there are three new dishes that are simply delicious:
- Whisky Bacon Burger – Caramelized onions and bacon seared into an all-beef patty piled with Pepper Jack cheese, crispy onions, bacon and Fireball® Whisky steak sauce on a Brioche bun.
- Grilled Chicken Breast With Bacon Beer Cheese Topper.
- Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp – Cajun-seasoned chicken breast grilled and served on a sizzling skillet with blackened seasoned shrimp, garlic and thyme. Served with fried red potatoes and sautéed onions & mushrooms.
Can you say yummy? Wait there’s more! Not only do you get to choose from one of the above new items but you also get a delicious appetizer too! We opted to get the spinach and artichoke dip which happens to be my favorite!
There was so many amazing dishes to select from but as a southern girl I had to have the Bourbon Chicken and Shrimp. OMG! This dish came out piping hot, fresh-cut potatoes with a dab of garlic which absolutely made the dish AMAZING! The service was amazing and our amazing Donovan was the icing on the cake. Donovan was attentive and ensured that I food came out immediately. He happens to be my favorite server and honestly I prefer to go when he’s working. If you’re ever in the Fayetteville, GA area be sure to stop by and ask for him.
The fact that I live so close to my Applebee’s is going to be a major problem because I’m heading back there today to have a lunch date with my youngest since it’s an early release day. Have you tried the new 2 For 20 Menu at Applebee’s? What’s your favorite dish?
