Hey Darlings! Do you remember when I first introduced you to Joella’s Hot Chicken last year at the Atlanta Food and Wine Festival? I recently discovered this week that they have opened a location here in Atlanta. They are conveniently located at 2955 Cobb Pkwy, SE Suite #910, Atlanta, GA 30339. To make it simpler they are located about a block and a half from Cumberland Mall.
MEET MISS JOELLA
Growin’ up, fried chicken was on the dinner table every Sunday and Momma’s was certainly the best. She taught me everything I know, well almost, about making chicken just right. And cookin’ too you know; only use fresh, all natural ingredients, and make it all from scratch – every time, every day, because your friends are worth it. That’s how you do it right and how you always get the best flavor, the best taste. But I’ve always liked adding a little spice to everything I do – makes life a lot more fun. And this includes my hot chicken.
In honor of Momma, I’ve called my hot chicken restaurant by the name she gave me. So welcome to Joella’s Hot Chicken. Come on in, sit down and eat, Honey. But first, tell me how you like it and I’ll make it just that way, only better. Because I’m not just gonna’ make you a meal, I’m gonna’ make your whole day. (Sourced from www.joellas.com)
MY EXPERIENCE
As I stated earlier I just happen to stumble upon their location when we left our Spa Day at Lehua Spa. Ms. Michelle was the one who actually noticed them and since we were on a strict schedule due to airing a broadcast later that day she insisted that we all try something new and different. It wasn’t until I pulled up in front of Joella’s Hot Chicken that I remembered that I had the opportunity to try their chicken at the Atlanta Food and Wine Festival. Trust me that day the chicken that they had available for us to sample was HOT! What else would you expect at a Festival full of spirits and great food?
The moment that we entered Joella’s we were immediately greeted with a warm welcome and smile. Elijah Miller was the amazing representative for Joella’s who walked us through the menu and happily answered any questions that we had before taking our orders. I love that they have a menu that will cater you rather you’re a chicken lover or just in the mood for a fresh Kale Crunch Salad. The menu also includes southern sides that are sure to be one of your favorites especially if you’re a Southern Belle like me.
Although Joella’s isn’t the only infamous Chicken spot here I wouldn’t consider them competition because Joella’s along with the other chicken places all have something different that customers are craving. What sets Joella’s apart is that they give you the option to chose your Heat Levels. Hey! Who doesn’t love options? Here are the Heat Levels to select from:
- Fire-In-Da-Hole! Inferno! It’s waiver-worthy!
- Hot! Fiery Heat! Hot but not scary!
- Tweener! Medium Heat in between hot and mild!
- Ella’s Fav! Flavor & Lil’ Heat! Taste buds love it!
- Spiked Honey! Add $.60. Sweet Mild with a twang!
- Southern! No Heat! Like Momma used to make!
JOELLA’S ORDER:
- The Chicken & Waffles (chicken spice level: Spiked Honey)
- Lunch Special: 2 Jumbo Tenders (chicken spice level: Tweener)
- Dippin’ Sauces: Spiked Honey and Ranch
- Sides: Parm Garlic Fries
- Dessert: Strawberry Shortcake Pie in a Jar (Not Pictured)
I absolutely loved Joella’s Hot Chicken and I can’t wait to patronize them again. Today as I was looking them up on google I discovered that there’s actually one closer to me but not as far away as the one on Cobb Parkway.
