**I was provided a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Grand Touring to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.**
The family and I took a mini-trip to my hometown of Savannah a weekend ago so that I could visit my sister, friend and also teach my first Armorbearer Seminar at my church there. Upon the initial delivery of the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Grand Touring I was asked how did rank the vehicle. I gave it a 7 simply because I wanted to give the vehicle a fighting chance. Honestly I have never really been a fan of Mitsubishi. My opinion was not from years of personal experience but from listening to naysayers and forming a bias opinion. The first glance of the beautiful black with a flip pearl caught my eye but it was still too soon to form an honest opinion so I promised myself after a week of driving the vehicle I was sure to have formed my own opinion of Mitsubishi.
The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander is what I would you call a cross-over vehicle and definitely very stylish! The vehicle definitely has a luxury look and feel! The precision that Mitsubishi put into creating this new model definitely shines among other crossovers. The black pearl exterior showcased the cutting-edge design and immaculate front grille with it’s sophisticated new look that includes LED accent lights and LED headlights that is sure to make it stand out among other vehicles. The vehicle itself had a smooth ride which leads to my first Reason!
The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander has a smooth unnoticeable ride. Cruising down I-75 to I-16 was all smooth sailings.
The 2016 Mitsubishi had adequate storage in the trunk and in a moments notice I could add another row of seats which for me is a big deal. When traveling to Savannah I always pick up an extra set of kids (my niece and nephews) so having the comfort of having additional seats is a huge win for me.
The ability to search for nearby gas stations which is a major plus when traveling. Let’s face it I am that Girl who waits to the last minute sometimes but with this awesome feature it definitely takes the guessing out of when will we see the next exit with a gas station. The vehicle was amazing on gas and definitely saved me a fair amount of money compared to what it would have cost to fill up my personal SUV.
The heated seats were perfect for all of the rainy cold weather that we started to experience. This was particular amazing in the early morning when dropping the kids off to school.
The Rockford Fosgate sound system is the BOMB! I will definitely say that Mitsubishi always has a great stereo system which is a must in my book especially with all of the traveling that my family & I do throughout the year. In fact I loved the fact that the CD player was included but secretly hidden because my kids still have CD’s that they like to listen to on road trips. When the kids are in school then I was able to enjoy the commercial free satellite stations. Once I found Pastor Joel Osteen’s channel I was in radio heaven!
The GPS was a major plus too! Although I travel a lot I am still one of those girls that needs a GPS to get me where I am going. This is definitely an added accessory that I long for in my current SUV.
The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander is definitely great for traveling with my two younger sons but there would not be enough leg room if my 19-year-old decided to travel along. Once the car was picked up my opinion of the car had changed to a 9 which I think is well deserved because its a great car for both local and long distance trips. It was actually a saving grace on gas and the comfort of the vehicle was awesome. This was my first time driving a crossover vehicle and I was pleasantly surprised with how well it handles on the road. I have definitely added this to my go to travel vehicles.
