Hey Dolls! A few days ago I had an amazing time attending The Athlete’s Foot 50th Year Anniversary here in Atlanta. The exclusive event was held at District Atlanta. The Athlete’s Foot has always been more than just a retail store; it’s a destination for athletic street style. At TAF, they ensure that they are known for encouraging their customers to break the rules and explore the unexpected. So we’re transforming into a place with a pulse on the street that offers them the chance to craft their own story through clothing and style.
From its humble beginnings as a locally owned business in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to being a global player with 500+ stores in 30 countries – retailer The Athlete’s Foot has definitely claimed its space in the sneaker and streetwear business over the last five decades. This year, the brand is celebrating its 50-year anniversary in style with special collaborations and contributions from its global ambassadors.
While the sneaker and streetwear culture are now dominating forces in the global fashion and apparel market, there was no sneaker and streetwear chain before the 1970s. Seeing the potential of rising consumer interest in athletic shoes, American entrepreneur David Lando decided to open the first The Athlete’s Foot in 1971 in downtown Pittsburgh, a store solely focused on athletic footwear. Now, 50 years later, the brand is stronger than ever with 500+ stores in 30 countries, bringing its unique footwear and apparel selection from the world’s biggest sports brands to confident and conscious consumers all around the world.
The night was filled with amazing food, music and a plethora of entertainment and fun. The dance floor was lit as people danced the night away. As the celebration continued attendees had an opportunity to win prizes at a Crep Protect Vending Machine Game, taking pictures at the 360 Photo Booth and enjoying an open bar. I am grateful to my fellow influencers who joined me at this amazing celebration and as a token of The Athlete’s Foot appreciation we all received a pair of their limited-edition Future Rider Dare To Play sneakers custom made by Puma! There are definitely perks to being a VIP. I had an amazing time celebrating their anniversary.
