Three Amazing Places To Visit In Atlantic City
The kids last day of school was this past Friday and I decided to surprise them with a weekend trip to Atlantic City, New Jersey. We have visited Atlantic City many times over the past years and since the kids are now older they can truly take advantage of the moment. The weather was great and perfect to take them on a long stroll on The Board Walk. I found roundtrip tickets on Spirit for $70/roundtrip which was not a bad price so it was perfect for us to kick off our Summer Travel.
The kids and I normally travel with a carry-on suitcase each but I decided this Summer to try to travel with only a backpack (one each) and I also limited us to only three outfits each and I ensured that the outfits were interchangeable with one another and in colors that would make it easy for me to stop and purchase an additional shirt or pair of pants if necessary. This wasn’t so much of a challenge for my sons as it was for me. I’ve become so use to carrying extra “in case of” outfits and shoes but this time I stuck to the plan and settled on a pair of jeans and two pair of yoga pants which were perfect because on this trip we did a lot of walking and traveling from state to state. Oh and I only carried one pair of sneakers which I’m sure that you could see in all of my pictures.
Once we grabbed our rental car we headed to take an amazing stroll down the Atlantic City Boardwalk. The weather was perfect with an amazing breeze and there was a great crowd of families and couples also enjoying the scenery. Although the kids have been there several times before they are now older enough to enjoy the view and take part in the experience.
Anyone who’s been on the Board Walk knows that the food is definitely one to try. The kids had to have their funnel cake and snow cone while running along the boardwalk.
While there I had to take the kids to one of my favorite bakeries, Minos Bakery. I have been visiting them since I was expecting my youngest son. I have even flown in just to get a few dozen cupcakes when I was expecting. Yes the craving were that bad. I wanted the kids to have the full experience instead of me always bringing them back delicious pastries plus there is just so much to choose from when you visit Minos.
We hit a lot of places but in efforts to keep this post to a minimum I will highlight one more of my favorite spots and that’s Jo-Jo’s in Atlantic City. OMG! Talk about THE BEST Philly Cheese Steak subs…Hands Down this is the spot. My kids all opted out to order different things but of course they enjoyed some of everything that we ordered. They had an amazing visit to Jo-Jo’s and raved about the fresh Italian made pizza.
Needless to say that we made the best out of our weekend trip to Atlantic City. Did I mention that we also visited family? Whew! We had a packed weekend. Stay tuned to see the other places that we visited during our trip because we also spent a day in New York and Philadelphia.
