Life Begins With Having The LBL Conversation
The school year is coming to a close and for my family that means UNLIMITED FAMILY TRAVEL. Although we often take many trips during the school year the Summer Vacation time means that I can go online, find a great travel deal, pack our backpacks and hit the road. As a mother of three very active sons that means that I am sometimes stretched all over the place. My oldest is 20 so its rare that he wants to travel with us so that leaves me running around with my two younger sons ages 13 & 9. Boy can they go!
On last year I was traveling during Summer vacation with a friend who I found out mid way into our trip that she suffered from Light Bladder Leakage. We were on the beach in Florida running around with the kids and she had a small accident. She felt really embarrassed and was afraid to even tell me that she had LBL. I assured her that it’s perfectly normal and that I too have had my bouts with it as well. I told her that it’s perfectly fine to have the discussion and become aware of a simple yet fixable issue. I can only speak for myself but I have three kids, all of whom I has naturally! Yes you read correctly…no meds just all natural. One thing that I regret doing both when I was younger and expecting was holding off going to the restroom. You know even at 40 I have found myself doing it if I am working on a last minute assignment or just too lazy to get up and go.
What I have found now is that sometimes when I sneeze there’s a few sprinkles or if I attempt to try to hold off from going to the restroom there’s another sprinkle.
