The news surfaced around the United Kingdom today that effective immediately, Peter Dundas has been appointed the new creative director of Italian fashion brand Roberto Cavalli.
Peter Dundas, an Norwegian designer was the former artistic director at Emilio Pucci will present his first collection for the house at Milan Fashion Week in September. Dundas presented his final collection for Emilio Pucci earlier this month. He served as the creative director for Pucci from 2008-2015.
The immediate appointment shouldn’t be a surprise since the newspapers and in the U.K. have been buzzing since December about the suspected move for Peter Dundas. Cavalli made a great choice especially since Dundas started his career with Cavalli and now that he has learned a plethora of knowledge in the fashion industry its only right that he return and create some of the most amazing designs that we will see in our lifetime. Dundas shares the same passion for fashion as Cavalli. There is no word on what capacity or role Cavalli will play now that he is near retirement but I am sure he will continue to wow us on the runways of Milan. Congratulations Peter!
