CURLS QUEEN NATURAL CURLY VERSATILE CAP DRAWSTRING PONYTAIL HALF WIG REVIEW

Hey Dolls! How are ya’ll? The Summer is taking its toll on me and my natural hair so when I saw all of the viral videos about Curls Queen wigs I simply had to try one of their products. From day one I was all on board. Let me start with my disclaimer…ya’ll already know that I have no knowledge of styling wigs or even how to pick them out so this is my very first wig review. Trust me it was an experience but a great one. You learn a lot about yourself when you have to have patience for styling a wig especially when you’re no expert. My sister Summer is the wig queen and FaceTime was our best friend because a few times she had to say “Sis push it back some”. Ha! This was so much fun. Enough chit chat let’s get into my experience.

WHAT I RECEIVED FROM CURLS QUEEN

The shipping was super fast. I received my package within 7 days of selecting my wig. My wig was packaged in this beautiful gold satin bag with the Curls Queen logo and included a leopard headband and a package of 2 wig caps. I would have loved to receive a few more headbands to wear. That would be something that I think the company needs to consider including with their wigs. Once I talked to my sister she told me to co-wash the hair with conditioner. I used an inexpensive conditioner that I use during the Summer for wash n go’s. I began by rinsing the hair a few times before I co-washed the hair. I co-washed the hair until the water was no longer cloudy but clear. Afterwards I placed the wig on a styrofoam head to dry overnight.

Listen! Sis was immediately in love with the curls. I naturally have 4B-4C hair so when I selected the wig I opted for the Curls Queen All-In-One-Realistic Natural Curly Versatile Cap Drawstring Ponytail Half Wig in a 3B-3C. I wanted to experiment with a different curl pattern that’s a little looser than my normal tight coils. Ya’ll already know that shrinkage is my enemy at times when I’m styling my hair. So naturally I wanted to try something new and I must say that I was very impressed.

HOW I STYLED MY CURLS QUEEN WIG

The first test of durability for my Curls Queen All-In-One-Realistic Natural Curly Versatile Cap Drawstring Ponytail Half Wig was it’s ability to endure my morning and afternoon yoga sessions along with my daily 1 mile walk. Let me start by saying all that I did was put on the wig cap, slide the wig on and a cute headband. I loved the thickness of the wig and on this particular day I spritz the hair with distilled water for a little extra pop and curl. In the above image I styled the hair in a half up half down with the top ponytail hanging down. I love how natural the wig looks.

In the below image I decided to leave a little of my natural hair out peeking through the red headband so that both my natural hair and the Curl Queens All-In-One-Realistic Natural Curly Versatile Cap Drawstring Ponytail Half Wig would blend well. I opted for a bun in my second half up half down top bun. Can you even tell that I’m wearing a wig?

My third style was a half pin up style. This was probably my favorite. Although my hair was cornrow back I left out a little in the front to style. I originally braided the leave out but soon discovered that it just didn’t give me the look that I wanted. Creating two flat twist in the front of my hair moisturized with Camille Rose was. the perfect combination for my third style.

The products that I used for this style were wig cap, bobby pins, Derma E Bonding Hair Oil and a edge brush. Once I took out one side of my flat twist I decided to take half of the long front comb on the wig and place over the second flat twist to give the illusion that its my natural hair. I took the flat twist that was left out loose and pinned it over the other side of the front of the wig. Who knew that this was even possible?

My fourth style was the classic whole wig look with a cute headband. This particular day I was heading out to a last minute event that I had to work and with very little time to spare I grabbed my wig for a quick style. I still had the flat twist in the front and cornrows in the back and decided to slick what I have left of my edges (I’ve always had thick hair and thin edges) and covered my entire head with the wig cap. I placed the combs on the wig in place in the front, back and sides. I sprayed the hair with a specific wig spray recommended by my sister Summer to give it a little curl and gloss. Needless to say I was loving it! I added a red headband and a pop of color with a red lip and headed out. Click the video below to see how I styled this look.

My fifth and final style is my nerdy look. I pulled my hair up into a high ponytail which is perfect for a day lounging at home, running errands or working from home while on zoom calls all day.
