The kids and I patiently awaited our newest local ice cream parlor, Downtown Scoops to open. Scoops is an early 1900’s old fashioned ice-cream parlor and it definitely has the feel and look of a scene straight out of Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory. The ambiance is amazing and it’s totally an environment for the entire family. The kids and I along with a friend of my son headed down to finally check them out on last Saturday and we were not disappointed. Upon walking in we were instantly greeted with cheer and the aroma of homemade ice cream. Can you say Yummy?
Scoops serves some of the most delicious ice cream that I have ever tasted. I later found out after asking that they were serving Jake’s homemade ice-cream. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Jake’s. They use the freshest ingredients with no preservatives or additives, plus their ice cream is hormone free dairy and made with pure can sugar. Trust me! It tastes so dang on good!
Check BJ out above as he places his order I snagged a picture! The selection of ice cream is one to adore because they have some of the craziest flavors like animal crackers, blueberry basil sorbet and Hot Sexy Mexican! It seems that the Hot Sexy Mexican is the town’s favorite. I plan to try it on our next visit this weekend. The kids decided to have raspberry and vanilla. My youngest had his in a waffle cone and the other two preferred the old school feel with the sundae dishes. What I found interesting was that Scoops offers an assortment of waffle cones which includes: chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla.
The kids had a blast playing the brain teasers and the old school games that they had available for the kids which was simply amazing.
In addition to selling ice cream, Scoops also serves the following all day: Soups, Salads, Hot Dogs and several sides. We were also delighted to find out that their Metro Deli which is also apart of Scoops serves an assortment of Deli Sandwiches along with their kids menu from 11 am until 3 pm.
To add a bonus you can also order their old school ice cream novelties that include: Milk Shakes, Malts, Root Beer Floats, Cake & Pie Al-A-Mode, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Hand Crafted Sodas, Fruit Floats, Steve’s Thrilla Vanilla Sundae, Banana Split, Truffles, Fudge, Bon-Bons and their cookie ice cream sandwich. Scoops has everything and its the perfect spot to stop by when you’re in Fayetteville, GA, heck its worth the drive to come down and have the experience with your family. Why not take your kids back in history while enjoying some delicious ice cream from Scoops. Just in case you don’t see me at an event or notice that I am offline….be sure to come by Downtown Scoops at 119 Stonewall Ave. E, Fayetteville, GA because that’s where you will find the boys and I enjoying a sundae or sharing a milk shake!
