Fernbank Science Center & Earth to Echo Event
Our Travels this week lead us to the Fernbank Science Center where the kids had the opportunity to visit their first planetarium. The planetarium at Fernbank Science Center is a celestial theater in the round, utilizing the complex Zeiss Mark V planetarium projector in conjunction with a new full dome digital projection system. These technologies collectively create a stunning immersive environment, which guide the audience through the wonders of the universe. The 70-ft diameter planetarium, one of the largest in the United States, is dedicated to teaching and public enrichment. Our visit started with the viewing of Back to The Moon for Good which was both educational and awesome.
The kids truly enjoyed the shirt film and learning about the constellation of stars in the sky. The kids were amazed to learn how to recognize the constellations and have the opportunity to see pictures of an Eagle, Swan, the big and little dipper. Shortly there after the Director, David Green and the Star, Astro of Earth to Echo answered questions for the kids and educated them on the Importance of Following Their Dreams. After answering the kids questions they were then lead out in the lobby to actually meet both David Green and Astro and receive autographed posters. This was the cherry on the cake since the kids had just gone to a private screening the day before. The Summer is the perfect time to take a mini road trip to the Fernbank Science Center and make sure that you go see Earth to Echo on July 2.
