EXPLORING GEORGIA TRAVEL SERIES: 2019 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER

Hey Darlings! It’s your favorite Southern Belle! I’m so excited to share my amazing adventures and thoughts on the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander. The Outlander was a great midsize SUV for the family. Currently I have a son in college and two at home, ages 12 and 16 year old. We had the car for a week to test drive so we decided to head out to a few spots to highlight around Georgia for our Exploring Georgia Travel Series. When the Outlander was delivered I instantly fell in love with the Rally Red Metallic. Ya’ll know that I love a red car. It always reminds me of a hot rod. I’m sure that you all already know that I am and will forever always be a SUV girl. I love the space that an SUV provides versus a car.

As I stated earlier there’s just something about red cars and when its metallic red Oh Baby you know that its going to be beauty. The leather appointed seats are the perfect addition to the Outlander. Although a third row seat would have been great its apparent that the vehicles body isn’t equipped for an additional row. This vehicle is great for a family of 3-4 or a college student heading off to college.

The moment that I sat in the car to take it for its initial test drive I immediately noticed that the channel was set to my favorite station, Pastor Joel Osteen. I love that the deliverers know me so well. It definitely made my day.

Let’s start with the model. This particular model that I drove was the Outlander PHEV GT S-AWC which happens to be a 4-Door Hybrid. This is my first hybrid that I had the opportunity to test drive from a company but not my first that was electrical. What I loved the most about the Outlander is that you can utilize it as both a hydrid/electrical and gas vehicle. When you think about it, its perfect because you get the best of both worlds. Plus with the Outlander you can actually charge it while you drive. Yep! You heard me correctly. The following are a few Interior & Convenience Features that stood out to me.

  • LCD Color multi-information display with 5-AWC distribution array
  • Energy Meter (Charge, ECO, Power)
  • Leather Appointed Seats
  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • 7.0″ Smartphone Link Display Audio (SDA) System
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatability
  • 710W Rockford-Fosgate premium audio system with 9 speakers
  • Steering wheel audio, phone and voice controls
  • Multi-view camera system
  • Electric shift lever
  • FAST-Key passive entry system with push button start and panic feature

The headlamps are LED high and low beam highlights with LED daytime running lights along with LED fog lights which are perfect for the bipolar weather that we’ve been having here in Georgia. The Outlander is a heavy hitter under the hood with its 12 kWh Lithium-ion main drive battery. The car includes a 120-volt charging cable, switchable 8A/12A. The 120V/240V charging system is an added bonus. The MSRP on the Outlander is $41,495.00 if you add in the additional equipment $135 and the destination/handling $995 brings the total MSRP to $42,625.00

So where did your favorite Southern Belle travel to during her week test driving the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander? This go round we had to keep it local due to us having to stay within the allocated mileage provided for this test drive. Hence we took our audience on an Exploring Georgia Travel Series locally and on one road trip. You’d be surprised at the hidden treasures that you can find in your area if you put in a little extra work to find the hidden gems. Our first stop during our travel series was to our local theatre to see Aladdin

Aladdin

Our second stop was Flying Biscuit located in Peachtree City, Georgia. Just in case you’ve never heard of them or visited trust me its the go to breakfast spot! They even serve breakfast all day. Of course you can order lunch and dinner options but folks mainly go for the breakfast. Keep in mind that they have several locations all over Atlanta.

Our third stop was to the Cool River Tubing located in Helen, GA. Helen, Georgia is a mini Germantown about 2 hours from where we live so an 1.5 from midtown Atlanta. It was a bit skeptical about the ride but once we were on the road the ride was actually a breeze. Hey! The Outlander is great for spur of the moment road trips which is something that my family does very often. This is where having the best of both worlds: gas and electric options. Trust me you will want a car like this one for that very reason.

Our final stop was to the Family Food Fest Atlanta where I had the privilege to serve as on of the judges for the food competition. The event included both amateurs and professional chefs competing. The food ranged from BBQ to Creole. It was an amazing time seeing all of the Fathers and Families together having a great time.
