FINALLY A HOTEL THAT UNDERSTANDS FAMILY FUN
Hey! We’re back with Day 2. Listen when I say that my family “GOT IT IN” I really mean that we did just that. Our morning started with a great breakfast at the Bayside Grill and it was nothing short of amazing. Just imagine having a shore side view while enjoying an amazing breakfast with your family. My family chose the Grand Breakfast Buffet while I ordered the Loaded Baldwin County Grits . Everyone who knows me knows that I can’t resist a bowl or plate of shrimp and grits but when I saw the that this particular dish included jumbo lump crab meat BABY I WAS SOLD! The Loaded Baldwin County Grits includes the following: ham, chopped bacon, jumbo crab meat, house made sausage, cheddar, green onions, chopped tomatoes, Thomasville tome cheese and foie grass butter. Can you say delicious? This dish was so delicious that the entire family had to sample. I can honestly say from all of my travels thus far and having breakfast all over the world that the Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa has the best loaded grits this Southern Girl has ever had!
Once we finished breakfast the family headed for the Pier to fish while I stayed back and conversed with a ladies that I had met the night before from New Orleans on their annual girls trip. We all took a stroll through the Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa on site garden. All of my followers know that over the past years I have been gardening with my kids teaching them how to grow their own food and needless to say that the fact that they grow many of their herbs and vegetables on site gave me such joy. This small initiative shows that as a brand and company that they are dedicated to providing their guest with THE BEST. This isn’t something that you would normally see at large resorts but The Grand has definitely raised the bar.
As I finished talking and touring with my new friends I headed to the pier to join the family as they fished. The pier is so beautiful and I love that the both the bait and sugar cane fishing rods were provided for the guest. Although the kids didn’t catch anything because the fish simply were not biting but non the less my family had a grand ole time.
Whew! It wasn’t even noon and we already had a jam-packed morning. The kids explorations continued as they headed to the pool. Lord give me strength because they had us there all day. Literally like 6-8 hours. I have no idea how I lasted that long but thankfully the Grand provided us with a complimentary cabana which was so needed for me because it was hot. Upon arriving to our cabana we were greeted with a beautiful fruit platter.
My youngest must be a water baby because that baby stayed in the water the entire time. We had to drag him out to have lunch. Honestly I can’t blame him, take a look at the pool side area.
Did I mention that the Grand also has an adult pool? It’s located adjacent to the family pool with a view of the kid sliding down the slide so there is no need to worry about the little ones because you can still keep an eye out for their safety. Simply Genius!
While my baby boy enjoyed the pool my middle son had a ball on the shore on the paddle bike. I love that the Grand provides a host of activities that the entire family can enjoy no matter the age range.
Later that day my middle son and I decided to take advantage of the complimentary bicycles and take a mini tour around the resort. Keep in mind that you can ride off the resort once you pass the pier. We had a ball. We actually did a full circle around the resort. Trust me when you visit do not pass up this opportunity.
The other amenities that are available for the family include an inside pool, fitness facility with all of the latest equipment and onsite spa.
We ended our last day on the resort with a great family dinner at the Southern Roots restaurant. I’m not sure how I missed ordering some of the most delicious bread that I have ever had in my life but I’m glad that on our last night I did. The hotel has the details down to a tee! Check out this antique clay pot that is used to serve the bread.
We would like to personally Thank the Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa for an unforgettable experience and we look forward to visiting again soon this Fall.
Disclosure: The family and I was invited as part of the media to tour the newly renovated resort, all thoughts and opinions are my own
