GEORGIA HIDDEN GEM: JAVA MONKEY COFFEE HOUSE

Java Monkey

Happy Friday Darlings! It would be an understatement to say that the last week has been crazy as HELL! Any who today I woke up extremely excited about a business meeting taking place today. If you’ve been following me for a while then your already aware that I adore finding “Hidden Gems”. Today was no different. I researched coffee shops in the Decatur area since it was a mutual location to meet for a business meeting and I ran across a coffee-house call Java Monkey. Honestly the name grasped my attention and then I took a look at a few of their images. I did notice that people had given them a few bad complaints BUT they were all based on the business being taken over by new ownership and changing some things that the old patrons were use to seeing or enjoying. I opted to ignore them because the fact of the matter is folks just don’t like change. They get complacent with their daily routine and its so important that you shake the pot us a little.

Once I decided on the Java Monkey as the location for our meeting I quickly provided my attendees with the address and looked forward to our experience. It’s no secret that I attend church in Decatur but I had never ventured into the downtown area of Decatur. It sort of put me in the mind of Little Five Points but a major upgrade. Upon arriving I loved that fact that although there was no free parking Decatur has done an amazing job ensuring that they have sufficient parking available. I parked with ease and headed to the Java Monkey.

Java Monkey

Upon entering I was greeted by an unexplainable ambiance that’s all too familiar to entrepreneurs. The staff was simply amazing and so helpful. I love the vibe of the Java Monkey and quite honestly Its a great alternative to Starbucks. I can really appreciate the positive vibes that fills the air from the moment you enter until you depart. We actually loved Java Monkey so much that I actually stayed for three different meeting. My guest was in awe and complimented both the staff and food. I unfortunately didn’t have the opportunity to have lunch due to me currently being on a fast but I will be returning in the next few weeks. I was happy that they provide vegan options in the event one of my clients or future business associates are vegan. Just in case sweets is more of your pleasure they also have a host of pastries and slices of cake.

I loved the look of the decor. I’m a sucker for antique decor and the Java Monkey has trinkets of history throughout their walls. I noticed there was a bar in the back so it looks like it doubles in the evening for an atmosphere where you can host small events or take part in a poetry slam.

Java Monkey is definitely going to be on my favorites list and although its a 40 minute ride from my side of town, I can honestly say that its well worth the ride. Ricky Thank You for making my first visit amazing!
