Hey Love Bugs! There’s so much going on in the world today but I want to take a moment and share a story that was meant to go viral for all of the wrong reasons but instead changed two peoples lives in less than 24 hours. The KFC Proposal!
Earlier today at a KFC branch located in South African a man fell on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend. The restaurant was packed, folks were ordering $5 boxes probably and then there’s a man who is madly in love with his girlfriend and knows that she’s his future wife. As he proposed the crowd is clapping and rejoicing during the couples special moment. He slides the ring onto her left hand and boom their engaged. From the looks of the viral video the soon-to-be bride was seated enjoying her meal and suddenly becoming immediately overwhelmed by the surprise proposal. Like seriously if you’re sitting down enjoying your lunch and two minutes later your being proposed to its a lot to absorb especially if it’s the least thought on your mind. As she accepts you can see tears streaming from her face. After all this is her moment and she was really surprised.
A journalist who has since made her account private tweeted “SA men are so broke they even propose at KFC (Crying Emojis)..they have absolutely no class, I mean who proposed at KFC (Crying Emoji) #KFCProposal has been trending on Twitter. Needless to say that Twitter dragged the heck out of her.
A video of the KFC proposal was captured and shared on social media by a different observer, identified by KFC as Kateka Malobola. If you’ve seen the video chances are your watching his impromptu recording which since has been viewed over 1.4 million times on Twitter. It’s reported that on Thursday KFC publicly thanked Malobola for “capturing the beautiful moment” and sharing it with the world. Then it appealed for help finding the couple. Hence starting the South Africa fast-food fairy tale.
