Hey Love Muffins! It’s been far too long. The past year I have been traveling like crazy and enjoying some of the most amazing foods all over the world. Allow me to introduce you to the amazing Maplewood Kitchen and Bar located in Cincinnati, Ohio where I was visiting on a long layover. A search for healthy restaurants lead me to discover Maplewood. The location was perfect and within walking distance. A few of my crew members and I walked a few blocks to Maplewood to see what all of the hype was about.
Maplewood is a unique eatery concept. The eatery opened in 2015 and is owned by a popular local restaurant group known as Thunderdome Group. Maplewood can only be described as a new spin on “fine casual dining”. The concept has customers place their meal order at the counter, and china, tablecloths and traditional restaurant furnishings are apart of the experience. Servers bring orders to the table along with cocktails and dessert. It’s designed to help busy downtown employees get a quality meal without losing a lot of time.
I can honestly say that from the time that we walked in, the ambiance was on point and the staff was simply amazing. The menu includes breakfast all day, sandwiches, salads, skewers, cold press juice, specialty cocktails and coffee. It’s a healthy food fanatic dream restaurant.
I decided to go with a few items for my visit. The Eggs Your Way appealed to my appetite. The Eggs Your Way came with three cage free eggs, choice of bacon, sausage or goetta, hash browns and blackberry compote and 16 Bricks 11 grain toast. Oh My! This was definitely a great selection. To complete my breakfast I decided to try their Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (VG) served with fresh seasonal fruit, berry compote and Ohio maple syrup. It’s one of those experiences that you just need to experience.
The pancakes were absolutely delicious. A crew members decided to order pancakes along with the Maplewood Burger made from ground chuck, short rib and tenderloin, topped white cheddar, house pickle, green leaf, grilled tomato, roasted garlic aioli on a 16 Bricks sesame bun.
Maplewood Kitchen and Bar is definitely a solid 10 out of 10. If you’re ever in Cincinnati add them to your list of great places to dine. The restaurant is open MON-SUN 8AM-3PM and is located at 525 Race Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.
