Happy Travel Day! I recently chatted with a great friend, Daniell Rainy and she sent me a picture of her intention box and it got me thinking. I have been creating a vision board for the past eight years. However, on last year I decided to start a vision journal in conjunction with my vision board. However, when Daniell Rainy told me about the intention box I decided to grab an old pickle jar that I had been using for a bank to save vacation spending money and wrap it in tissue paper in my favorite color pink and use it as my intention jar. Special thanks to Stacey AKA TheSistahChick for my amazing Paris journal.
The day after Christmas I wrote one intention and added it to the jar. The intention read “In 2015 I will travel somewhere different every month”. I AM a firm believer that your words create power. In exactly two days after adding my intention I found myself and the kids on the road to Savannah and although I said 2015 what better way to kick off one of my 2015 intentions and the New Year than by traveling! I packed the boys and I a small bag and we headed out to hit the road. Our first destination was Savannah, GA where we stayed for a few hours. Keep in mind that I’m a native of Savannah so there isn’t a place that I haven’t visited over the years. We had lunch with my sister and mom and within a few hours we were loading up the truck and setting off for our next destination which was unknown at that moment. That’s the beauty of traveling, YOUR DESTINATION IS SOMETIMES UNKNOWN!
Upon traveling for a few hours we were more than happy to make a quick pit stop in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Myrtle Beach is a beautiful place to visit and although its been a few years since my last visit, it makes for a great getaway. I would suggest the warmer months if you have your mind-set on hitting the beach which we may not see this visit because it’s an overcast and we’ve been experiencing drizzling rains during our trips. The kids and I have visited before but unfortunately they were probably too young to truly appreciate the trip. As a Mom and lover of traveling I have made it my business to ensure that I take them to all of the destinations that they visited as a baby or toddler so that they can truly appreciate traveling now that they’re older. It’s funny because I told them to pack a bag because we were taking a road trip and automatically they were excited about the road trip. They immediately jumped up to grab a few outfits and rushed off to the car. Hey that’s what happens when your kids are wanderlust too.
Our adventure doesn’t stop here. You will have to stay tuned to see where we end up on our next destination!

My family and I love traveling and hoping that this year we’ll travel some more again. I won’t be able to do it every month though. I look forward to seeing your travels!
Lou its going to be a challenge but I am planning on visiting places that are semi-local as well.
