My family received complimentary admission to Wet ‘N Wild Orlando to facilitate this review. All opinions expressed here are my own!
The kids and I had a family meeting a few months ago as we pitched each other ideas on where we wanted to go for Spring Break 2015. The majority chose the same destination and Orlando was our destination. We have visited Orlando a few times before and its been perhaps four years since our last visit so we were all excited to plan out our visit. The planning became super easy thanks to the wonderful people at Visit Orlando.
We decided to take a road trip and drive rather than fly like we have done in the past so needless to say the kids were excited when we finally reached Orlando and although it was late the kids were still utterly excited and patiently awaited their first day in Orlando.
The kids spent the first part of day one at Wet ‘n Wild water park. Needless to say that the kids were happy to run around a water park all day. The last time that we visited Wet ‘n Wild there were signs posted about the opening of their newest ride Aqua Drag Race and my 12-year-old wasted no time heading over to take his spin on the new ride. The Aqua Drag Race is the tallest, fastest four-lane drag race without wheels in Florida.
The Disco H2O ride takes you back to a 1970 disco nightclub. I will admit that I was too scared to get on this ride but not my 12-year-old he’s more of a dare-devil when it comes to amusement park rides and this one was another one of his favorites. It obviously was the favorite of the day at the park because all day the line was wrapped around the corner.
Wet ‘n Wild has something for the entire family. If you have a dare-devil, moderate devil or scary cat they have a treat for everyone. My 8-year-old and I decided to stick to the less scary attractions. We prefer to play it safe. LOL. My younger son and I enjoyed the surf lagoon. The lagoon produces four-foot waves that roll across a 17,000 square foot wave pool. This was more our speed and we could just relax. We took advantage of this opportunity to get our yoga challenge in for the day.
The remainder of the day was spent floating around relaxing on the lazy river and Mario spending countless hours on the Blastaway Beach. The Blastaway Beach is the kids favorite with its six-story castle, two pools and fifteen slides. Mario had a ball running around with friends that he made during our visit enjoying the kiddie beach. The Beach also has over 160 water cannons, jets, soakers and waterfalls. It’s the largest family water play area in Florida. What makes this attraction awesome is the parents are welcome to join in on the fun as well and create lasting memories with their little ones. We had a blast and we will indeed be making another stop before our departure later this week. Stay tuned for Orlando adventures!
