10 WAYS TO CARE OF YOURSELF

Hey Darlings! The days are winding down and the kids will officially be out of school for the Summer. Like most days I run of a strict schedule that I have created for myself which happens to keep me on task and get tons of things down in the allotted times (I will share my schedule in another post). However today I found myself a little off schedule and initially I felt like I was cheating on my normal routine but soon realized that its perfectly normal to venture off schedule and take time to take care of yourself. The past few weeks I have been traveling, working and very busy but today my body was like “Girlfriend Take Care Of Yourself”. So hence led to this editorial about taking care of yourself and what’s great is there are several things that you can do in the comfort of your own home to have a little self care moment. Here is a list of 10 Ways To Care For Yourself In the Comfort Of Your Own Home.

Prayer and Meditation:  It’s essential to start every morning with a prayer to set the tone of your day followed by a short 5–10-minute meditation using an app called Yoga International (which you can try for free for 30 days by using Code: NATURAL30). Meditation helps to center your mind and also helps with creativity and confidence.

Extend your sleep time or take a short nap: Did you know that more sleeps equals more happiness, aids in better health, decision making and helps you become more creative?

Practice Yoga: You isn’t about how flexible you can become but a mental system of learning yourself mentally, physically and emotionally. It’s a great way to RESET your mind.

Listen To A Podcast: I have find that taking some extra time out to listen to business podcast has become one of my favorite motivational sources. My favorite is “How I Built This” by Guy Raz. As a business owner who sometimes gets worn out or discouraged while building my brand it helps to listen to fellow entrepreneurs and how they worked diligently to build their business.

Call A Friend: We get so busy with our hectic lives that we forget to take time to call a friend to talk and laugh. Calling a great childhood friend that you can reminisce on your childhood and teen years can be great for your soul. It reminds you of the time when you felt like you could do anything. Even in your adult life you should still have those moments.

Unplug: We live in a technology driven world where it’s mandatory to have a smart gadget in your hand at all times. Why not turn off your electronics, allow your emails to pile up, hide your cell phone and just unplug. I promise you that you will feel revived.

Write In Your Journal: Millions of people have or collect journals but aren’t actually using them. Writing is a very therapeutic activity and has helped me to release and unwind. Imagine that in just a few minutes, you can write your hopes, dreams and thoughts. Maintaing a Gratitude and Manifestation journal are also very therapeutic.

Read A Book: Books allow you to mentally escape and experience a different world, time and era. Good Ole Fashion reading of a hardback or paperback book has so many rewards. Reading has become one of my favorite ways to relax.

Have A Spa Day: Who says that you have to visit an expensive spa? Running a hot bath and adding two cups of milk, fresh rose petals and a few drops of rose oil will transform your normal bath into a luxurious spa. Grab your favorite book and escape all the cares of the day.

Take An Early Morning Walk: The weather is perfect in the early morning and helps you avoid the scotching sun. Walking in the early morning allows you to start your day calmly and your mind will be open for great ideas and the busy day that you have ahead of you.

Today I took time to everything that is listed above in efforts of taking a Self Care Day for myself. Once I started my day with these simple activities I found that I was more refreshed, opened and felt more creative finalizing business plans. I hope that these activities will also be as beneficial for you as they have been for me.
