Hey Love Bugs! This year has flown by so fast. I still can’t believe that its November already and in a few months we’ll be entering a new year. This year I realized that I needed an accountability partner. Over the past few years I have served as others accountability partner but I never really had one for myself. I have an amazing friend who also happens to be a entrepreneur that has been instrumental in my life over the past 3-4 months.
If you’re feeling like you’re in need of an extra push more drive or motivation in achieving your goals, having an accountability partner is exactly what you need. Today I’m sharing four reasons why you need an accountability partner in your life.
1. TO HAVE SOMEONE TO BOUNCE OFF IDEAS WITH
Having someone who you can be extremely transparent with is key when having an accountability partner. As a business owner sometimes we have tunnel vision or too many creative ideas. Although they may sound amazing to us that doesn’t mean that they are necessarily good for your brand. I love that I have an accountability partner who loves to sit and listen to me while writing down my ideas and walking me through which are short term vs. long term and what will work for my vision. Plus many times you just need a set of fresh eyes and perspective. Bouncing ideas off with someone is an amazing way to nail down your options and explore the ideas. Think of them as your brainstorming partner and exchanging ideas with him helps in determining the best strategies.
2. TO HAVE SOMEONE TO HOLD YOU ACCOUNTABLE
Let’s be honest. How many times have you set a goal and did not achieve it? It’s been a lot right? It’s so easy to justify yourself when you’re unable to reach your goals because there isn’t anyone in place to hold you accountable. Having an accountability partner provokes you to create obtainable goals and work diligently towards accomplishing them. I met monthly with my accountability partner and we create mini list to work throughout the month. We text and chat via phone weekly as we have wins and obstacles and together we work through our concerns together. It also serves as a form of motivation for each other to achieve our goals and see the results.
3. BE A CHEERLEADER FOR EACH OTHER
Celebrate every win! A win is a win in my book no matter how small or big. Life happens and we realize that some things won’t always go right, and when you’re feeling down you need someone to talk to that can listen and refill you with positivity. Accountability partners never judge. They just listen. They’re the ones that helps you put all of the puzzle pieces back together again no matter how long it may take. They wait patiently by your side through the entire process.
4. THEY ARE YOUR SILENT BUSINESS PARTNER
A major advantage of having an accountability partner is the realization that you’re not alone on your journey. Although you’re the owner of your business or brand having an accountability partner means that you never walk alone on your journey to achieving your goals and dreams. There is nothing more refreshing than knowing that there’s someone in your corner who will push you out of your comfort zone, stretch you beyond your limits motivate & inspire you and put you in check when needed.
