Hey Love Bugs! The summer is coming to an end and the kids have less than two weeks before they return to school. YIPEEE! Can you tell that I’m excited. Just kidding I love the summer and the time that I get to spend with them creating memories. Thanks to Ford for dropping off their 2019 Ford Edge ST for us to test out on a road trip. We left on yesterday late afternoon and headed to Savannah for a lay over until we set out on our road trip today.
The 2019 Ford Edge ST is the perfect size car for my family and is surprising extremely large inside. My two younger kids fit comfortably in this super cute midsize crossover SUV. I have tall kids so when they naturally fit without problems its always a major win. I love the fact that it seats five. My little cousin who is Mario’s age also joined us on our latest road trip. Even with two in the backseat there was still plenty of room for an additional person (adult or child).
We left Savannah mid afternoon around 3PM and arrived in Jacksonville around 5PM. The ride isn’t long in fact when I lived in Savannah many years ago there wasn’t a time that I wouldn’t jump in a car and take a quick trip to Florida (Jacksonville, St. Augustine or Orlando). Needless to say that the ride in the 2019 Ford Edge is so smooth. Hey! The proof is in the pudding. Look at the kids. They were knocked out in less than five minutes of hitting the road.
Upon our arrival we checked in to our hotel and headed out to sightsee. It was getting late so we made a mad dash to the Ponte Vedra Beach located in an unincorporated seaside in St. Johns County, Florida. Its located 18 miles southeast of downtown Jacksonville and 26 miles north of St. Augustine and its a part of the Jacksonville Beaches area. We arrived at the beach at the perfect time. The sun was just right and the breeze was amazing. I felt like I was on the veranda at our home in Jamaica. The weather and temperature were absolutely perfect. I was a little worried because the weather called for partly thunderstorms however the weather held just for us. The kids had a great time on the beach. We enjoyed the waves and the sounds that they made as they came close to shore. This was the perfect opportunity for me to record the wave sounds on my voice memo to use for my yoga practices and prayer time.
It’s at these spontaneous moments that I just close me eyes and thank God for everything. It doesn’t matter if I may be lacking something that I may need I just THANK GOD for his unlimited blessing no matter how small or big. As I watched the kids run around and play I took the time to just bask in the beautiful creation that my heavenly father created for all of his beloved kids to enjoy. It’s something about the ocean that just melts my heart. Our first day here was breath taking and we look forward to seeing what tomorrow brings. Stay tuned for our next adventure.
