Last week my kids insisted on scheduling Grumpy Cats Worst Christmas Ever to record just incase they just happened to miss the premiere. Let’s start by saying that I was a little hesitant about watching a movie plot surrounding a grumpy cat. Hmm! The mere title had me a bit surprised but hey my kids were excited so being the mother that I am I was game for watching along with them. It just so happens that the Lifetime premiere was on the same day as my youngest sons birthday and we were out celebrating so it was good thing that we scheduled it to record.
Upon arrival back home we settled in to watch Grumpy Cats Worst Christmas Ever. I can’t say that I am a die-hard cat lover but I have had a few cats during my childhood so I totally understand many people’s love for cats. The movie starts with Grumpy who appears to be a female cat in a pet store actually narrating the movie. Grumpy(voiced by Parks and Recreation’s Aubrey Plaza) isn’t just a normal cat but a very modern-day cat who is quite hilarious! The commentary is totally amazing. Grumpy Cat calls the mall pet shop home but soon it may no longer be her home if the pet store owner doesn’t come up with the finances to catch up his behind bills. The owner just happens to have a rare breed dog name JoJo who is worth a million dollars and upon selling him all of their money problems will be over. That is until the wannabe rock stars plot to steal the prized dog.
The plot than thickens and takes a bizarre twist because as it turns out the security guard who should be guarding the mall just so happens to be the brains behind the whole operation. Chrystal a young girl meets what is believed to be a fill-in Santa at the mall and receives a magical coin where she makes a wish for someone to talk to and listen to one another because she hasn’t been able to make any friends since she and her mom moved. Chrystal soon discovers that she can hear Grumpy and they create a crazy bond and join forces in preventing JoJo from being stolen.
The movie was amazing in my opinion and my two son’s both agree. As a Social Media Manager and Blogger I especially enjoyed the fact that they included tons of Social Media language which was just great! I totally related to the movie and enjoyed how the plot kept the kids and I anticipating the next exciting thing to happen. I’m glad that we recorded the movie because we will indeed be watching it over and over again. If you missed the movie make sure that you stalk Lifetime for the next airing. Lifetime if your reading this please make a sequel and I would love to be your exclusive blogger! Did you watch the shoe? What were your thoughts?
