Hey Darlings! I’m back with another Hidden Gem. The kids and I had to getaway from Atlanta for a few days so we hopped in the 2019 Ford Edge ST that Ford dropped off on last week. The kids and I enjoyed the peaceful ride down to Jacksonville and once we reached our hotel the front desk agent, Reggie suggested that we try Boiling Crawfish. He specifically suggested that the kids try the wings with the house seasoning and the Arnold Palmer.

This was my very first time ever hearing about this restaurant. I didn’t even bother to read the reviews because Reggie was so enthusiastic about the restaurant that I just had to give them a try. Hey you guys know that I’m always up for an adventure.

Boiling Crawfish puts me in mind of a local chain of restaurants in Atlanta called Juicy Crab. Whether your appetite calls for a crawfish boil or mixed bag of a Low Country boil or your hot wing fix, the Boiling Crawfish has you covered. The restaurant was within walking distance from the hotel. The kids and drove because initially we weren’t sure just how far the walk would be plus we had just driven over two hours but once we arrived I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was less than a five minute walk.
The seafood restaurant doubles as both an oyster bar and sports style environment. There are lots of TVs and loud music playing. The ambiance was great and the music wasn’t too loud. In fact it was perfect for the atmosphere.
I love that the boiled specials are available in three flavors (Cajun, garlic butter, and BC house recipe) and three spice levels (mild, medium, hot), and all come with sausage, potatoes and corn. I opted for the shrimp ($22.99) in “medium” house seasoning. OMG! The seasoning was AMAZING! I made sure that I asked for a side of garlic butter. Ya’ll know this Southern Belle has to have her garlic butter. The shrimp boil bag included large shrimps. corn on the cob, potatoes and sausages. In my opinion this was the perfect choice and Oh My Goodness it was so delicious.
The kids decided to have hot wings. My oldest of my two younger sons ordered the wings with the house seasoning (spicy) while my youngest and my little cousin ordered (medium) along with cajun fries. My youngest was perfectly content with the wings but they begin to progressively get hotter. LOL! BJ had to order a water to go with his spicy wings because his Arnold Palmer wasn’t hitting the spot because those wings were extremely hot.
The service from our waitress was attentive at first but then she slacked off tremendously. The food didn’t take long to arrive but there were moments when we had to flag our server down. I wasn’t sure if this was because it was after 8PM and they closed at 9:30PM.
Overall, Boiling Crawfish was definitely a great choice and this was in my book another amazing Hidden Gem to add to my list.
