Let’s talk about the many well-kept secrets in Atlanta. I had the pleasure of visiting the Glenn Hotel which is beautifully located in downtown Atlanta, not too far from Centennial Park but with an amazing view of the Ferris Wheel and Atlanta Skyline. Close your eyes and imagine arriving at one of Atlanta’s elite boutique hotels with a hint of Southern Charm. The ambiance that you encounter the moment that you step into the foyer will immediately remind you of a secret garden getaway. The key chandelier above the registration desk instantly caught my attention and I thought to myself that we hold the keys to our own destiny and have the ability to open as many doors as our heart desires.
What an amazing yet powerful piece to have upon your entry into the Glenn? The staff was simply amazing and caters your every need. It’s definitely a home away from home! The Glenn has 110 contemporary guest room and suites which are all apart of the Marriott Autograph Collection. Built n 1923 as an office building which has been listed on the National Registry of Historic Places has since then been remodeled to green-friendly standards. Quaintly located close to many of Atlanta’s popular downtown attractions including the Georgia World Congress Center, CNN, World of Coca-Cola, Georgia Aquarium to name a few.
The Glenn has an amazing restaurant located on the property, Glenn’s Kitchen which reaches beyond presenting Atlanta’s sights and sounds, to immersing their guest in the most exquisite tastes of the town. The Glenn’s Kitchen features unpretentious American fare highlights local Southern flavor, making it one of the most in-demand restaurants in Atlanta. I had the pleasure to meet Reggie who was simply amazing!
If you’re downtown be sure to stop by and ask for Reggie. Trust me he is amazing. He was very considerate when it took me forever to finally decide what I was having for lunch. Plus he can guide you through making your choice because he definitely helped me and needless to say that he was right! I ordered their signature Shrimp & Grits which consisted of Shrimp, Andouille, Okra, Cajun Spices and a hint of White Wine. It was simply delicious and perhaps one of the best versions of Shrimp & Grits that I have ever had in my life!
I took a tour of the property and from the moment you head to the elevator you can tell that special touch was added to ensure that you receive the total experience. Take a look at the antique mailbox that’s located right outside of the elevator as you leave the lobby.
The moment that you step off the elevator you are greeted with amazing art and you can tell that love was taken into consideration with each and every piece.
What I loved in particular about the Glenn was their style of boardroom design. Each boardroom is named after a game which in my opinion gives it a bit of extra flair and their rooms look just like an executive boardroom. How cool is that?
Needless to say that the Glenn Hotel has a host of beautiful rooms and ambiance. The Penthouse was amazing! Yes I had the opportunity to tour each room style and of course the Penthouse was the last on the list. Don’t believe me? Check out the room and did I mention the Atlanta Skyline is the view?
Visiting Atlanta Soon? I would definitely suggest The Glenn Hotel for accommodations. Stay tuned for next weeks Discover ATL hotspot!
